The Journal of Analytical Psychology XIV International Conference

Dissociation: Trauma and the Self

The Roosevelt Hotel, New York City. 20th,  21st,  22nd, 23rd April 2017

Clinical Writing Workshop

On Thursday, 20th April there will be a preconference writing workshop for both aspiring and experienced authors who want to publish clinical papers in the Journal of Analytical Psychology. The workshop will explore ways to revise a sample paper, negotiate patient confidentiality and navigate the Journal’s review process. It will include writing exercises to put what you learn immediately into practice.

As part of this full-day experience, participants will break into three smaller groups to discuss ideas for their paper with Suzi Naiburg, who will lead the workshop, and with past and present JAP Editors.

We will meet from 10am-4pm at the C.G. Jung Foundation, just an 8-minute walk from our conference hotel.

This intensive workshop is being offered at an affordable price thanks to the generosity of the Michael Horne Memorial Fund. Enrolment is limited, so early registration is strongly advised.

Suzi Naiburg, PhD, LICSW (, is a graduate and faculty member of the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis, and the author of Structure and Spontaneity in Clinical Prose: A Writer’s Guide for Psychoanalysts and Psychotherapists (Routledge, 2015). She is also a writing coach, editor, and book doctor who has taught 100 clinical writing workshops. For two years when she lived in Santa Fe, she was the Executive Director of the C.G. Jung Society of New Mexico. She now has a private practice in Belmont, MA, and works with writers worldwide.
